Explain the feature of granite system of Harappa people

Basically any civilization is known majorly by art and culture adopted at that time . It is truly reflected in it’s people , the attire they adopt , the language the speak and so on.

The significance of Harappan Civilization or Indus Valley Civilization :-

a) A marked feature of this civilization was the vivid imagination and artistic sensibilities clearly depicted by the numerous sculptures , seals , potteries , jewelleries found at many excavation sites .

b) One of the remarkable features were planned network of roads , houses and drainage system indicate the planning and engineering skills deployed during those times.

c) The remarkable sense of town planning , the towns were laid out in rectangular grid patterns . The roads seems to cut each other right angles ( one road running east-west and another road running north-south ).

d) There were basic three type of building :- a) dwelling houses b) public housing c)public baths. Harappan used burnt brick for purpose of construction.

e) The city was divided into two parts :

Upraised citadel : - western parts comprising building of larger dimensions , basically building of rulers and aristocrat.

Important feature was the existence or prevalence of public baths , which indicate the importance of ritualistic cleansing . Example : “The Great Bath” in Mohenjo-daro.

In the lower part of the city , small one roomed constructions basically belonging to working class people .

f) The striking feature of Harappan civilization is the advance drainage system . Small drain ran from each house and were connected to larger drains running alongside the main roads.
