Its tributaries flood parts of the northern plains every year, causing widespread damage to life and property but enriching the soil for the extensive agricultural lands. Enlarged with the waters from its right and left bank tributaries, the Ganga flows eastward till Farakka in West BengalKnown as the Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna (GBM) River Basin, it is one of the largest river systems in the world. The melting water from the Himalayas, as well as water from tributaries and rainfall, all feed the sacred river. The Ganges flows south and east from the Himalayas, forming a canyon as it leaves the mountain.the three features of ganga basin are: the ganga basin is a part of ganga-brahmaputra basin draining Tibet, nepal, india and bangladesh. gangotri glacier is the source of water for this river. the ganga river has got two main water bodies mainly alaknanda and bhagirathi.

Answer:Ganga is a very pure water river.we all know due to more polluty in rivers the Ganga is also polluted.The Ganga river starts from himalaya mountain.when the ice of himalaya mountain melts than the water which comes in more amount and it makes a river which we called Ganga. We have to aware with all rivers because every river gives some medicines like Ganga.
