Features of Constitution of 1791:
1.It limit the power of the government
2.It separated the powers and assigned it to different institutions-the legislature, executive and judiciary
3.It vested the power to make laws in the hands of the national assembly which was indirectly elected
4.Men above 25 years of age who paid taxes were allowed to vote and choose a group of electors who in turn choose the Assembly.
5.The constitution began with the declaration of rights of man and citizen. Rights such as right of life, freedom of speech, freedom of opinion, equality before law were established as natural and inalienable rights i. e. they belong to each human being by birth.
