Hi!! Let us understand about the battles and why they happened?

Muhammad Ghori, (the ruler of Ghazni, Afghanistan) wanted to rule India.

Around the same time, Prithviraj Chauhan of the Chauhan Dynasty ascended the throne of Ajmer..

Both of these people wanted to rule over the Gangetic Valley and Punjab.

So, a battles was fought:

• 1st Battle of Tarain= Won by Prithviraj Chauhan.

Prithviraj was generous so he didn't imprison of kill  Ghori. But as for Ghori, he still wanted to rule over the Valley and Punjab. So, another battle was fought..

• 2nd Battle of Tarain= Won by Muhammad Ghori

Now, Ghori imprisoned and killed Prithviraj. He happily got control over Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, North India and Punjab..
