First Phase :
The period of first phase of green revolution was from mid 1960's to mid 1970's. During this phase, the use of HYV seeds was restricted to the more affluent states such as Punjab, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
Moreover the use of HYV seeds primarily benefitted the wheat growing regions.
