Its 16-bit register with every bit connecting to flip-flop.

Flag is a flip-flop.  

It points to conditions produced by execution of an instruction.  

The zero flag will set if result of execution of an instruction equals to zero.

Consists of 9 active flags of 16.  

Remaining 7 flags marked ‘U’ are undefined.
