When you write 18km/hr, it basically means the speed is 18 kilometres ….per hour, i.e, taking the quantities seperately ..

1 km = 1000 m

So, 18 km = 18*1000 m

Similarly, 1 hr = 60*60 seconds = 3600 seconds

Therefore, 18 km/hr = 18*1000 m / 3600 s

= 18000m/3600 s= 5m/s

(Or simply remember

Km/hr to m/s ……multiply the speed with 5/18

While m/s to km/hr….multiply the given speed with 18/5)
