Commercialization of agriculture in India began during the British rule.

3} The main economic policy of the British government was Land settlement and the zamindari system Because of both these policies, the Indian agriculture became very obsolete and backward. All the produce was taken by the rulers of British India, this made the farmers angry, but they could not do anything.
