ionic compounds conduct electricity in the molten state. ... In the solid state, these ions are held together by strong electrostatic forces of attraction so, the conduction of electricity isn't possible. However, in the molten or aqueous state, these ions are free to move and hence, conduct electricity.

AS IN IONIC BONDING, TWO METALS OR ONE METAL AND A NON-METAL COMBINE BY LOOSING OR GAINING OF ELECTRONS. AS THERE IS EXCHANGE OF ELECTRONS AND IONS ARE MOVING, IT WILL CONDUCT ELECTRICITY, THUS IONIC COMPOUNDS ARE GOOD CONDUCTORS OF ELECTRICITY.
