When the hydrogen halides react with alkenes, the hydrogen-halogen bond has to be broken. The order of bond strength in hydrogen halide is HF>HCl>HBr>HI. So, HI gives a faster reaction with alkenes.
Order of rectivity: HI>HBr>HCl>HF.
