i). This happens because of inertia of rest which acts on the books kept at the top. The same you would observe when you play carom
ii). This happens because of inertia of motion. Your upper body moves forward as it is in indirect contact from the base of the bus, thus the inertia of motion willing to prevent state of rest would make you move forward.
