A polymer is a large molecule, or macromolecule, composed of many repeated subunits.
Due to their broad range of properties,both synthetic and natural polymers play essential and ubiquitous roles in everyday life.
Biodegradation is the breakdown of organic matter by microorganisms, such as bacteria and fungi or other living organisms and thereby avoiding pollution.
Examples :-
Human and animal waste. Plant products, wood, paper, food waste, leaves, grass clippings, natural products.
Cellulose is a insoluble substance which is the main constituent of plant cell walls and of vegetable fibres such as cotton.
It is a polysaccharide consisting of chains of glucose monomers.
