Corrosion: The most common example of corrosion is rusting that is corrosion of iron. When an iron article remains exposed to moist air for a long time its surface is covered with a brown flaky substance called rust.

Rancidity:
The oxidation of oils or fats in food resulting into a bad smell and bad taste is called Rancidity. We have often noticed that food containing oil or fat, if left for a long time develops a bad taste and bad smell. This is because of the oils and fat present in food get oxidized.
Example:
when a chips pack is exposed to atmospheric air which results in a change in taste and odor.
