The poem Habit explains the situation of poor dalits in society. It also tells about the pain and suffering in lives of Dalits.

In this poem it is clearly explained about the habit that develops when you used to one thing.

The upper class dominating people keep insulting the oppressed poor class people.

The Dalits are used to listening and tolerating the harsh behaviour of upper class people.  

Slowly the feeling of being insulted becomes a part of their habit and they don't even feel anything as being insulted.
