Your Answer:
a) Electron deficient hydrides:
" Hydrides having lesser electrons to form normal covalent bonds are called electron deficient hydrides."
Example:
BH3 , AlH3 , etc.
b) Ionic Hydrides:
" The second category of hydrides is ionic hydrides ( also known as saline hydrides or pseudohalides ) . These compounds form between Hydrogen and most active Metals , especially with alkali and alkaline-earth metals of group one and two elements..... They bond with more electropositive metal atoms ."
Example:
LiH , NaH , HCl , etc.
