electron rich =valancy> 8  has lone pair eg nh3 grp 15 16 17

a)ELECTRON DEFICIENT HYDRIDES:-

these hydides have lesser number of electron than required for conventional Lewis structure.

ex :-diborane

b)ELECTRON RICH HYDERIDES :-

these hydride have excess number of electrons than required for conventional lewis structure

ex:-Ammonia.
