Ferromagnetism- The substances which get very strongly attracted due to the presence of a magnetic field and is magnetised by strong electrostatic field. Like cobalt, nickel, iron.

Paramagnetism - They are weekly attracted due to the presence of a magnetic field and upon removing it loses its magnetism.Like Cu2+, Fe3+.

Ferrimagnetism - When magnetised the magnetic moments get aligned in parallel and anti-parallel directions like MgFe2O4.

Antiferromagnetism - The moments are oppositely oriented and they cancel the moment like MnO.

12–16 and 13–15 group compounds - They are covalent compounds and the difference in electronegativities decides their ionicity.
