Corrosion is the oxidation of metals.. it results in the wastage of material in cas of aluminium only corrosion is found to be useful..
Rancidity is the process in which oils and fats present in the food get oxidised that leads to change of smell and taste of food..

1. Corrosion- Damage caused to metal, tone or other materials by corrosion.
EXAMPLE- Rusting, the formation of iron oxides is a well known example of corrosion.
2. Rancidity- It refers to the spoilage of a food in such a way that it becomes undesirable for consumption.
EXAMPLE- Even though meat is held under refrigeration or in a frozen state, the poly-unsaturated fat will continue to oxidize and slowly become rancid.
