Within about three days after conception, the fertilized egg is dividing very fast into many cells. It passes through the fallopian tube into the uterus, where it attaches to the uterine wall. The placenta, which will nourish the baby, also starts to form.

Zygote undergoes meiotic divisions and forms embryo and it keeps moving towards the uterus for Implantation.

After 1st month of pregnancy, embryos heart is formed.

By the end of 2nd month, foetus develops limbs and digits.

By the end of 12 weeks, major organ systems are developed.

During the 5th month foetus first movement and appearance of hair on head can be seen.

By the end of 24 weeks, body is covered with fine hairs and eye lids separate and eye lashes are formed.

By the end of 9 months, foetus is fully developed and is ready for delivery.
