explain the formation of coal in detail

The energy in coal comes from energy that was stored in giant plants that lived hundreds of millions of years ago in swamp forests, even before the dinosaurs! When these giant plants and ferns died, they formed layers at the bottom of the swamps. Water and dirt began to pile up on top of the dead plant remains.

Coal is formed by the process called carbonisation.... 300Million years ago there were many dense forests .... Suddenly there was increase in temperature.... The area was also flooded because of this the trees in forests got decomposed and fossil fuels started to form this way Coal was also formed______________________________
