1) The bond formed by sharing of electron pair is contributed by one of the two bonded atoms is known as co-ordinate covalent bond (or) dativeBond

2) The bond is represented by an arrow \mathsf{ ( \: \mapsto \: )} pointing from the donor to the acceptor

3) The bottom which donates electron pair is called Donor while the atom which accept the electron pair is called acceptor

4) EX :- Ammonium ion formation : A dative bond formed between \mathsf{N{H}_{3} \: \: and \: \: {H}^{+}}

where \mathsf{N{H}_{3}} act as donor due to the presence of a lone pair of electrons on Nitrogen atom and \mathsf{{H}^{+}}acts as electron pair acceptor due to its vacant orbital
