Formation of the fresh water lakes in the Himalayan region: ... When the weather there gets warmer the snow starts to melt and all the basins are filled with the snow-melt water creating the fresh water lakes as there is no pollutant in the snow. Dal Lake and Wular Lake are two fresh water lakes.

Fresh water lakes are fed from snow-melting, precipitation and springs . Examples are: Dal lake , Naini Lake.
