Explain the formation of fresh water lakes in the Himalayan region. Give two examples of fresh water lakes formed in this region.

due to action of glacier through process of abrasion and plucking , a basin is dug out . as in Himalayas snow is more , when it is warm the snow melts and the basin is filled with water

this forms lakes in himalayas

the lakes will be with fresh. water as no pollutants are there in snow from which water is formed

Wular lake and Dal lake are two important fresh water lakes.
