b Valley glaciers and ice sheets carve out hollows and troughs on the surface of the earth which are later filled with water due to snow melt.

due to action of glacier through process of abrasion and plucking , a basin is dug out . as in Himalayas snow is more , when it is warm the snow melts and the basin is filled with water
this forms lakes in himalayas
the lakes will be with fresh. water as no pollutants are there in snow from which water is formed
Wular lake and Dal lake are two important fresh water lakes.
