The peninsula plateau is one of the oldest landmass , the Gondwana Land. Due to the split by the convectional currents , The peninsular India drifted towards the north and this resulted in the collision which an much larger eurasian plate.
due to this the thethys sea folded to form a mountain system in the west and the Himalayas.
