1. The formation of rainbow is based on the dispersion of white Ray of light into a band of 7 colours of VIBGYOR.
when light rays pass through the droplet, then refraction occurs. After refraction, this Ray of light undergoes total reflection inside the droplet( because the angle of refraction is less than the critical angle). then the final rays come out of the droplet in the form of rainbow
Red appears on top , because it has highest wavelength, whereas violet occurs below as it has least wavelength
