(1)Formation of the nitrogen molecules using valence bond theory.

Since nitrogen atom has the atomic number of 7.So,it contains 7 electron in its last shell and its electronic configuration is 2,5.So it required only three electron to complete its last shell..

These three electron are provided by other nitrogen through triple covalent bond.

So, they contain three bond pair and no lone pair.

(2)Formation of the oxygen molecules using valence bond theory.

Since oxygen atom has the atomic number of 8.So,it contains 8 electron in its last shell and its electronic configuration is 2,6.So it required only two electron to complete its last shell..

These two electron are provided by other oxygen through double covalent bond.

So, they contain two bond pair and no lone pair.
