MITOCHONDRIA -

✓ It's a cell organelle made up of two membranes and a matrix. Matrix part contains fluid while membranes are the sight where chemical reactions occur.

FUNCTION OF MITOCHONDRIA -

✓ Mitochondria is also known as powerhouse of the cell. It's main function is to perform cellular respiration.
{ Cellular Respiration - it means it break down of nutrients and turn them into energy in form of ATP }
✓ The number of mitochondria vary from cell to cell. The number of mitochondria in a cell can tell about how much energy required to that cell. More the number more will be energy.
✓ It also helps in formation of some proteins.
