It transfers materials from the blood to the body cells and vice versa, therefore, it acts as "middle man".

The lymphatic system refers to the colorless fluid which flows through the tissues and organs protecting it from infection
It is formed when some proteins ,salts ,fats and WBC’s go into the intercellular spaces between the tissues
It consist of several lymphatic cappialries which carries the lymph ,bathing each tissue and removing excess fat from it
It later joins the blood stream at some point
