Parliament (sansad) has many functions.

It consist of two houses i.e it is bicameral.

  1. Lok Sabha (lower house)
  2. Rajya Sabha (upper house)

There are various function of the parliament SUCH as :-

  1. They keep a check on officials if they are working honestly or not.
  2. They tell others about the needs and aspirations of the citizens
  3. They make new laws
  4. They change or alter the existing laws.
  5. They look into the financial matter of the country and prepare a budget.
