THE FOLLOWING ARE THE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS OF THE ACCUSED PERSON

  1. THE PERSON NEEDS TO BE INFORMED FOR THE REASON FOR HIS OR HER ARREST AT THE TIME OF ARREST.
  2. THE REGISTERED PERSON SHOULD BE PRESENTED BEFORE THE COURT WITHIN 24 HOURS OF ARREST.
  3. THE REGISTERED PERSON SHOULD NOT BE TORTURED BEATEN OR SHOT BY THE POLICE.
  4. CONVENTIONS MADE BY THE RESTED PERSON IN THE CUSTODY SHOULD NOT BE USED AS EVIDENCE IN THE COURT.
  5. WOMEN AND CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 15 YEARS CANNOT BE CALLED TO THE POLICE STATION JUST FOR THE PURPOSE OF QUESTIONING.
