THE FOLLOWING ARE THE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS OF THE ACCUSED PERSON
- THE PERSON NEEDS TO BE INFORMED FOR THE REASON FOR HIS OR HER ARREST AT THE TIME OF ARREST.
- THE REGISTERED PERSON SHOULD BE PRESENTED BEFORE THE COURT WITHIN 24 HOURS OF ARREST.
- THE REGISTERED PERSON SHOULD NOT BE TORTURED BEATEN OR SHOT BY THE POLICE.
- CONVENTIONS MADE BY THE RESTED PERSON IN THE CUSTODY SHOULD NOT BE USED AS EVIDENCE IN THE COURT.
- WOMEN AND CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 15 YEARS CANNOT BE CALLED TO THE POLICE STATION JUST FOR THE PURPOSE OF QUESTIONING.
