Explain the gaseous exchange that occurs in alveoli.

in alveoli, gaseous exchange takes place between oxygen and carbon dioxide through a process called diffusion. when the inhaled air reaches the alveoli, it gives oxygen to the blood cells passing by and takes de - oxygenated blood ( blood filled CO2) and pushes it up the respiratory system so that we can exhale.
