The geography condition of Mesopotamia in civilisation:-

Iraq was a land of diverse environments.

In the north of Iraq,

There is a stretch of upland called Steppe. On which animal herding is done, here animal herding give better livelihood to people more than agriculture.

In the north east of Iraq,

There is green undulating plants, tree covered mountains with clear streams and wild flowers. There is enough rainfall to grow crops. In Iraq, agriculture began in 7000-6000 BCE.

In the eastern part,

Tributaries of Tigris river provide routes of communication to the mountains of Iraq.

In the south,

This area is covered with desert, and this is where first cities and writing emerged. It support cities because rivers Euphrates and Tigris rise in Northern part carrying silt or fine mud.
