Human heart consists of 4 chambers to prevent blood rich in oxygen from mixing up to blood rich in carbondioxide. Oxygenated blood travels from the lungs to the left atrium. When the left atrium contracts it passes the blood to the next chamber which is the left ventricle. Deoxygenated blood comes from rest of the body to the right auricle/atrium while it relaxes. While it contracts blood is passed to the right ventricle which passes blood for oxygenation to the lungs. This process keeps on continuing throughout the time.
