If you look at the diagram , you can see , there are three sigma bonds and one pi bond close to the starred carbon .
We already know only sigma bonds contribute to hybridisation and not pi bonds , So the hybridisation number would be 3 ==> which means two s and one p orbital would take part in hybridisation, Hence sp2 .
