in ice there is a regular H- bonding i.e. one molecule surrounded by four molecule and form cage like structure.

but in water there is irregular H- bonding

Answer:

On being heated, the molecules of solid (ice) absorb energy and start moving vigorously. They receive so much that they overcome strong chesion. As a result solid (ice) melts down and converted into liquid (water).
