forest people create the forest area for cultivation, seeds are sown in the ashes of the first monsoon rains and crop is harvested by october to November. a mixture of crop is grown on this plots .after some years they will find another reason for cultivation this practices on shifting agriculture.

but Europeans consider the practice where harmful because they felt that land which was used for cultivation every few years could not grow trees for railway Timber. when a forest was burnt it was negative effect to the valuable Timber.

shifting cultivation also made it harder for the government to calculate taxes. so government banned shifting cultivation. as a result communities displays the force me some have changed occupation . this lead to rebellions in different parts.
