One of the major functions of the judiciary is to interpret and apply laws to specific cases. In the course of deciding the disputes that come before it, the judges interpret and apply laws. Every law needs a proper interpretation for getting applied to every specific case. This function is performed by the judges.

Answer: Judiciary plays a very important role in the Federal government for example if we take the situation of India the highest court that is the supreme court solves disputes between two States on different matters like water disputes ext. second one is that Supreme Court or any other courts help in law making . the Judiciary also specifies the jurisdiction of separate levels of government.
