Around 70 percent of annual rainfall of India has its source as monsoons. In India, there are two types of monsoons observed to have potential to rain. They are
- Southwest monsoon
- Northeast monsoon
Southeast monsoon: This is the main monsoon that brings heavy rain to India. It blows from sea to land.
Northeast Monsoon: This the second set of monsoon that blows from October to March. This is the monsoon that brings rain from Northeast corner of India from the Himalayas.
