Around 70 percent of annual rainfall of India has its source as monsoons. In India, there are two types of monsoons observed to have potential to rain. They are

  1. Southwest monsoon
  2. Northeast monsoon

Southeast monsoon: This is the main monsoon that brings heavy rain to India. It blows from sea to land.
