the osmosis is the net movement of water molecules from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration through a partially permeable membrane. water molecules moving through a partially permeable membrane only allows small molecules to pass through it.   if living beings doesnt have partially permeable membrane,large and small molecules will be able to pass through it
