The Climate in the Plateau region varies from one place to another. Most of the people in the Plateau to another. Most of the people in the Plateau region are farmers. The Soil here is mostly Blac and red in colour.

Black soil is good for cotton and oil seeds. Groundnuts, rice, sugarcane, wheat and millets are some of the crops that are grown in the central region.

Many Factories have come up in the Plateau region as the region is a storehouse of minerals such as iron ore, gold, coal, copper and Mica.

Almost the whole of India's gold supply comes from the Kolar Gold Mine of Karnataka. Hyderabad, Nagpur, Bhopal, Indore, Bengaluru, and Mysore are important cities in this region.
