Answer:

The lithosphere is largely important because it is the area that the biosphere (the living things on earth) inhabit and live upon. ... In combination with the atmosphere and hydrosphere (water), it provides a stable source of nutrients for botanical life, which produce glucose that higher organisms use for sustenance.

Answer:

Lithosphere :

Lithosphere is the topmost crust of the earth on which stand our continents and ocean basins. The lithosphere has a thickness between 35to 50 km in the continental regions but becomes thin between 6 and 12 km under ocean beds. In the high mountain region its thickness is estimated about 60km. Lithosphere provide us forests, grasslands for grazing land for agriculture and human settlements and also rich source of minerals.

The lithosphere contains different types of rocks such as the igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks, it helps to provide the necessary nutrients required to plants. The mantle, which lies between the core and the crust, consists of molten rock, called magma which moves continuously because of convection currents.

Hydrosphere :

One hardly thinks about the planet’s role in keeping us alive as we take the hydrosphere for granted. The major significance of the hydrosphere is that water sustains various life forms. Further, it plays an essential role in ecosystems and regulates the atmosphere.

Hydrosphere covers all water present on the surface of the earth. It consists of saltwater, freshwater, and frozen water along with groundwater and water in the lower levels of the atmosphere.
