13th April 1919 a peaceful meeting of about 20000 men , women and children was being held in Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar to protest against the Rowlatt Act a British officer name general dyer arrived with Troops and order firing on a un arm crowd more than 1000 people died and many more were injured General Dyer had blocked the exit of the meeting area and the people had no chance of Escape this massacre sent shock waves throughout the country and the Indians become more resolved to fight the British
