Unfortunately while we have a lane system in India , no one bothers to educate them on the usage of the same and you see total chaos when driving in a 4 lane or 6 lane road/highway.The solution to this as i see it is to make getting driving licence tough and unless a person passes all these tests should not be given license and also anyone caught not complying to this should be fined heavily.This in my opinion may look good on paper but will never get implemented .Even our highways are not in line with international highways like proper exits and speed categories and totally devoid of over passes

National Highways : These roads are laid by the central government to connect the large cities. The investment of roads are by cental.
State Highways : These roads are laid by the state government which connects the districts in the state. The investment is done by the state government.
District roads : These roads are laid to connect the villages in total distrct this comes under the state government.
Village roads : This roads are laid to connect the small villages and nearby towns. This roads are mainly cement roads.
