Answer:

Cotton Textile Industry

➸ The first successful textile mill was established in Mumbai in 1854.

➸ There are more than 1946 cotton textile mills in the country.

➸ About 80% of these cotton textile mills are under private sector and the rest of them are under public and cooperative sectors.

➸ Before, the cotton textile industry was mostly found in cotton growing belt that included Maharashtra and Gujarat.

➸ Currently they can be found all around the country.

➸ The location of cotton mills is based on the availability of raw cotton, market, transport, labour, moist climate etc.

➸ India exports yarn to Japan.

➸ Other importers include USA, UK, Russia, France, East European countries, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka and African countries.

➸ The only thing we need to improve in our textile mills is the weaving sector as only exporting yarn cannot make us more money.

➸ We can only get high amount of money by exporting clothes.

➸ And for exporting clothes, we need to improve our weaving sector.
