let's first define inertia.
' it is the property of a body by which it resist the change in it's state of rest ,or of uniform motion in a straight line is called inertia'
the later part of statement of uni form motion t o sudden stop is indicative towards inertia of motion
now for inertia motion.
let's take an example to explain it .
when a bus is running and the driver suddenly applies the brake we get a jrk, because a body tends to be in same uniform motion.

The tendency of a body toppers any change in its state of uniform motion is known as inertia of motion.

\textbf{Examples}

1) When horse running fast suddenly stops, the rider is thrown forward, if he is not firmly seated.

》This is because the lower part of the riders body, which is in contact with the horse, comes to the rest while the upper part of his body tends to keep moving due to inertia of motion.


2) A person getting out of a moving bus or train falls in the forward direction.

》As the person jumps out of a moving bus, his feet suddenly come to rest on touching the ground while upper part of his body continuous to move forward. That is why he falls his head forward. In order to save himself from falling down, he should run in the forward direction through some distance.


3) An athlete runs for a certain distance before taking a long jump.

》The inertia of motion given by him at the time of Jumping as to his muscular effort and helps him taking a long jump.


4) A ball thrown upward in a moving train come backs into thrower's hand.

》The bol aqua star Regency velocity of the train and maintain it ( inertia of motion ) during its upward and downward motion.
In this period the ball covers the same horizontal distance as the train, so it comes back into thrower's hand.
