Nutrition:Chemical combination or reaction between nutrients leads to changes in their biological availability. The largest group of interactions can be explained by direct metabolic requirements of one nutrient for the biological activity of another.

Respiration:The circulatory and respiratory systems work together to circulate blood and oxygen throughout the body. Air moves in and out of the lungs through the trachea, bronchi, and bronchioles. Blood moves in and out of the lungs through the pulmonary arteries and veins that connect to the heart.

Transportation: Transportation and economic systems have a reciprocal relationship as transport supply and demand are mutually interdependent. For instance, the construction of a highway interchange favors the concentration of commercial and service activities, which will generate additional transport demand, which in turn will favor the location of new activities and a reorganization of the regional spatial structure.

Excretion:The liver and kidney are largely responsible for inactivating and eliminating drugs and other chemicals. As the excretory capabilities of the two organs overlap, a damage of one system might be compensated by the other.
