EXPLAINATION:

iionic bond takes place between metal and a non metal

metal looses electrons and forms a cation(positive charge)

whereas the nonmetal gains electron and form anion (negatively charged)

in NaCl. Na is metal and looses one electro

  1. whereas chlorine gains one electron from sodium

as these are oppositely charged particles due to electrostatic force NaCl is formed

Hope it is helpful:)

in a Nacl commonly known as common salt having ionic bond because sodium atom are of alkali in nature having one Valence electron form bond with chlorine atom having one less electron to complete its octet belongs to halogen family form ionic bond with sodium atom

for Nacl more about

nature of bond

ionic

force between them

electrostatic

melting point

high

boiling point

high

conductivity

conductive in liquid form

but not in solid
