The irony is a literary device in which the meaning is just opposite to what is said. The sentence "victory with no survivors" is an example of irony. Victory is meant for the celebration and happiness for the people. At the same time when victory proceeds with no one left to enjoy it becomes a curse. If no survivor is left to enjoy the happiness of victory, that victory is of no use altogether.
