Answer:
Cotton is harvested when the pods mature. When the cotton fibre is taken out. pods and seeds are separated from it. The cotton is thus obtained is shipped to spinning Mills, where yarn is made. the yarns are then bleached with chemical and dyed with dyes and pigments. thereafter the yarn is sent to textile milk for being woven into fabric. if the yarn had not been bleached and dyed at the spinning mill, an off white fabric is obtained. this is called grey fabric and it is now bleached and dyed. Once the fabric is woven. it is shipped to traders or wholesalers who in turn sell it to retailers. then the retailers would sell it to customers like us. we buy cloth as per our requirement and get it stitched by a tailor. Eventually the shirt is collected from the tailor and find its way to your wardrobe.
In case of readymade shirts the purpose of a tailor is eliminated.
